I'm pretty sure that each of us has thought about starting our own business at least once. But as nowadays you can often hear that someone started something of their own and gave up very quickly or it simply didn't work out, we ask ourselves if it's wise to start the same, so we very quickly give up on any idea and stop thinking about it. But why is that at all? Are we afraid of failure or are we afraid of success? As we live in the modern age where technology is very advanced and where information is available at our fingertips, I decided to research what we need to do now if we want to start our business tomorrow?
Starting a business is a very challenging and not at all easy process. In today's time when entrepreneurship is more and more present, it is important to know what are the steps for the successful realization of our idea.
There is no business without an idea. It represents the first and most important step towards the realization of a business. Our idea does not have to be innovative, but it must still be useful and adaptable to the market. It often arises from some of our personal problems - something that is missing in our environment or something that can be done better, faster or cheaper. In my opinion, it should have something to do with our personal interests and occupations, because that will lead to perseverance and later to possible success.
When we have determined our idea, the next step is to write and create a business plan. But what is a business plan?
The business plan is the foundation of the beginning of our business. When we determine the idea, we have done only 20 percent of our work. The business plan is everything that helps the future entrepreneur turn his idea into reality. In addition to the entrepreneur himself, the business plan is also important for managers, employees, investors, partners. It includes a description of the business itself, market analysis, financial analysis, organization, as well as goals and strategies. We have to justify the reason for choosing a given idea, what it is that we offer and how it will contribute to the market. It is very important to determine who is our target group and who is the competition. The organization helps us to determine who will lead our business and how, whether we will have teams or the jobs will be led by individuals.
The financial plan as such is a very demanding process, because prior knowledge and experience are very important for it, because with its help we determine how much money we need to start, how much money we want to invest, but also how much money we expect to make a profit. The financial plan is determined on a weekly, monthly and even annual level. long-term goals. The business plan is made at the very beginning of our business, but it changes over time, as our company develops, so do the changes, so these items change as well.
After the idea and the plan, legal factors and administration come next. Every business and company is different, but the legal factors are mostly the same. The first step is to choose the legal norm of business - whether it will be an entrepreneur, a limited liability company (LLC) or some other form. this option has its advantages and obligations, which depend on the size of the job, the number of employees and the planned profit. Then follows the registration of the company in the Agency for Business Registers (APR), the choice of activity, obtaining the PIB- and opening a business account in the bank. If the company requires it, it is necessary to obtain permits, consents and licenses. After that, it is also necessary to register the company in the tax administration. This step seems quite complicated, but with good organization and the help of experts, everything can be easily completed.
One of the key challenges at the beginning is financial security. Most often we start with personal funds, but if that is not enough, it is possible to seek help through loans, investments, donations and subsidies.
The next step is marketing and promotion. In my opinion, marketing is one of the most interesting but at the same time very difficult factors, because with the help of marketing we look at how and in what way we will attract and then retain customers. How will our product be promoted and which channels (social networks, billboards, website, recommendations) will help us in this. Our product can be the best, but if people haven't heard and seen it, everything falls apart. The goal of marketing is not only to attract customers, but to break through our brand, build a relationship with customers and create trust. In today's time, digital marketing is indispensable, and that's why social networks (Instagram, TikTok), websites and paid advertising are most often used. In addition to these channels that we are all used to, there are also traditional methods such as flyers, promotional events, collaboration with influencers and companies. Good marketing doesn't have to be expensive, it's important to be creative and targeted at the right people. Through quality promotion, the business gains its recognition and opens the door to greater success.
We have come to the last but no less important step - Challenges and how to overcome them?
At the beginning of every business, there are challenges such as lack of resources, experience, insecurity, but with good preparation, patience and willingness to learn, they can be successfully overcome.
What can we ultimately conclude from all this?
Starting a business is a serious process that requires full commitment, courage and self-confidence. Although the beginning can be uncertain and full of obstacles, with good organization, a clear vision and a willingness to learn from mistakes, success is possible. The most important thing is to believe in your idea, yourself and your abilities.
